WORKFLOW Release 2026.2.10
VERSION 2026.2.10
What’s New
I-9 & E-Verify Compliance Updates
Rival has updated Form I-9 and E-Verify to align with the latest USCIS requirements. These changes apply automatically with this release — no action is required. USCIS will accept both the current and updated I-9 versions through the July 31, 2026 deadline.
- The Section 1 citizenship status selection has been reverted from “A noncitizen authorized to work” to “An alien authorized to work” to match USCIS’s return to original statutory terminology. Previously completed I-9 forms are not affected.
- The system I-9 PDF has been replaced with the current USCIS edition (expiration date 05/31/2027), including revised List B document descriptions and updated DHS Privacy Notice language.
- The electronic I-9 form has been updated to match the new PDF, including updated labels, checkbox text, and form layout.
Task Details – New Task Management Experience (Beta)
Task Details v2 continues to receive enhancements. This feature is in Beta and can be enabled via Admin > Settings > UI → Enable New Task Details (default OFF).
- The Enable New Task Details setting has been moved to Admin > Settings > UI, making it accessible to client administrators.
- Employee profile fields with HTML content now render correctly across Task Summary and Task Details.
- Required-field indicators now clear properly after fields are completed.
- The “Required” badge position has been standardized across Forms and Document Upload modules.
- Multiple cosmetic refinements including corrected labels, capitalization, and improved category selection behavior.
Known issues being addressed in upcoming releases:
- Event Phase selection is not yet available in v2; use v1 to configure Event Phases.
- Retired category values may not appear in the Assignments & Categories modal.
- I-9 task expiration can be modified in v2 when it should be locked.
- The Edit Task Tree does not yet display unpublished change details.
- Minor validation messaging and UI layout refinements are in progress.
Bulk Action – Forms Review & Approval (Beta)
Bulk Action is in Beta. Clients can request enablement from their CSM or Support. Note: Bulk Action does not yet support forms generated from EUP (Employee User Profile) profile fields — these must be processed individually. Other form types work as expected.
- When a completed Bulk Action task is reopened, the previous approval signature is now hidden from the form to prevent confusion. The original approval is preserved in the Audit Trail.
- Admins with appropriate permissions can now view completed Form Review tasks. Previously, non-assignee admins could see a misleading “Form has not yet been created” message.
Known issues being addressed in upcoming releases:
- In cloned events, retiring or unassociating a parent task may bypass dependency protections for Form Review tasks.
- Generated PDFs may include an extra blank page or push approval signatures to a new page in some scenarios.
- On slower connections, the preview modal may temporarily display layout inconsistencies while loading.
Resolved Issues
Forms
- Classic (Gen 1): Fixed a regression where characters in form names were replaced with underscores when creating or cloning forms.
- Smart (Gen 2): Rule Section conditional logic tied to Profile fields now evaluates correctly for single-select and multi-select fields.
- Smart (Gen 2): Forms and surveys now include automatic page numbering in generated PDF footers.
- Smart (Gen 2): The footer element now functions as a true anchored footer at the bottom of the page
Dashboard Summary
- My Tasks summary cards now display correct counts instead of showing 0 when tasks exist.
- Shared Dashboard task counts now correctly reflect the dashboard owner’s data instead of the viewer’s.
Employee Portal & Documents
- Restored the ability to open documents in a new browser tab for PDFs, images, and other browser-viewable formats.
Task Summary
- Long Task Titles and Event Names now truncate with ellipsis and display the full text on hover.
Task Configuration
- Fixed a regression where Download Package tasks were cloned on every save, even for non-substantive changes. Cloning now only occurs for meaningful configuration changes.
- Fixed an issue where Send Integration Notification URLs and text could be duplicated when saving a task multiple times.
Notifications
- Fixed an issue where duplicate notification precedence values could block task add and reopen operations.
Hotfix (May 13)
- Integration notifications: Duplicate triggers on expired tasks — Fixed an issue where tasks with “Send Integration Notifications” enabled could fire a duplicate outbound notification for self-completing dependent tasks when the parent task was expired on the same day as the nightly processing cycle. The nightly process now correctly skips user-expired tasks, ensuring only a single notification is sent.
- Integration notifications: Duplicate entries on task save — Fixed an issue where the Send Integration Notification URL and Static Text could be duplicated when saving a task definition after changing the Task Definition ID. Duplicate entries caused downstream integrations to receive the same message twice. The system now validates that notification entries are unique and prevents unintended duplication during save.
